Springfield Illinois Elks Lodge # 158 hosted Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day December 7th, 2017 at the lodge on Lake Springfield. PER Bobby Edwards and Exalted Ruler Tom Duffy Jr accepted a proclamation from Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner declaring December 7th, 2017 as “Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day” in Illinois. Governor Rauner thanked the Elks for their tireless community support and for remembering all Veterans. In addition to Governor Rauner, The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs, and several Veterans organizations were represented at the event attended by over 125 people. A wreath of remembrance was launched into Lake Springfield during the event to commemorate this infamous day in United States history.
