SPRINGFIELD ILLINOIS ELKS LODGE #158 MEMBER AND WWII VETERAN HONORED

Colleen Fischer, Community Ambassador for Mission BBQ. Mission BBQ opened the first location on September 11, 2011, as a way to support military, police, firefighters, and first responders. They held their Grand opening on January 25, 2021. The Guest of Honor was John Phillipich, Springfield Elks Lodge #158 member. John was involved in the ceremony, cutting the ribbon and officially opening the doors for business. At Mission BBQ their mission is to serve those who serve. Colleen stated that they were honored to have Mr. Phillipich (pictured 4th from left in a blue sweatshirt) and thanked him for his service.


GOOD NEWS FOR LOCAL VETERANS!

On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, Exalted Ruler Adam Church from Springfield Elks Lodge #158 (pictured on right) presented $1,000 worth of Walmart gift cards (funded by the Elks Veterans’ Grant Program) to Dane Schaffer (pictured on left) at the Sangamon County Veterans Assistance Commission whose mission is to provide to the local Veterans community in areas of Financial Assistance, VA Claims & Advocacy, Transportation to VA Medical Centers, and referral assistance.

Quincy Dare Awards

Quincy Elks lodge 100 hosted 56 guests at the Dare awards presentation. 10 awards for essay winners were given out and served everyone a fantastic meal sponsored by the lodge. 

Quincy Gratitude Grant

The Elks lodge #100 completed the Gratitude grant with $1,000 going towards a voucher program at the Salvation Army and $1,000 towards Hygiene kit items to St John’s Open Hands pantry. Both groups will help the community with needed assistance in the areas that are not available with their current programs today.

Great River Honor Flight #58 May 19th 2022 Quincy Illinois to Washington DC

What a great day we had in Washington DC leaving Quincy 1am Thursday morning and returning 11pm Thursday night
