Olde Tyme School Days at the round Barn Adams County Fairgrounds
Put on by the Olde Tyme Association sponsored by the Promise Grant from Quincy Elks Lodge #100
350 school kids made the trip out the fair grounds and spent the day learning how we lived our lives in the 1890’s
St Francis, St Dominic’s, St James, Payson, Community unit #4 (Mendon), Camp Point and home school students.
Olde Tyme association member staffed the working displays with help from FFA kids and Quincy Elks Lodge #100 volunteers.
Steam Saw Mill, Corn shelling, Thrashing, Rope making, Blacksmith, Sorghum press, Print Shop, 1 Room School House, Log Cabin and Round Barn exhibits.
The Promise Grant from the Elks helped pay for transportation, some of the materials and a catered meal for the volunteers.
