Passing of PSP Ralph Bradshaw

Ralph E. Bradshaw, 84, of Peoria, passed away on August 18, 2021, one day shy of his 85th birthday, in Peoria.

He was born August 19, 1936 in Peoria County to Gilbert and Anna (Riekena) Bradshaw. He married Nancy Hardy on September 17, 1961 in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are four siblings, David (Carole) Bradshaw of Princeville, Joyce Reeser of Lufkin, TX, Terry Bradshaw of Peoria and Cathy (Glen) McCool also of Peoria; and two nephews, Scott L. (Dawn) Haynes and Gil A. Haynes both of Springfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ross Bradshaw.

Ralph served in the U.S. Marine Corp. and worked in the steel mill at Keystone Steel and Wire until retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Peoria Elks Lodge #20 B.P.O.E, where he was a past Exalted Ruler in 1976 and 1986. He rose through the chairs and was a past District Deputy of the West District and a Past President of Illinois State Elks Association. He was also a member of the Bartonville American Legion Post #979 and the Peoria AmVets. Ralph enjoyed bowling, playing handball at the YMCA and was an avid golfer, playing 5 days a week and was on the 5 Elks League.

A visitation will be on Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 2 to 4 pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Cremation will be accorded following the service and a celebration of life will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Elks National Foundation or to the Elks Children Care Corporation.
