Kewanee Elks Appreciation Banquet

The Kewanee Elks #724 held the 32nd Youth Appreciation Banquet on Sunday May 5, 2019.

Teens of the Month were (front L-R) Grace Sturtewagon AHS, Emilyann Wexell GHS, Brookelynn Smith WHS, Darrah Schilling GHS, Lainee Winter WHS and Lauren Bryan WHS.
(back row L-R)Tyler Nichols WHS, Zachary Olson JD Darnell, Gunner Spivey GHS, Dylan Wolf KHS, Zac VanOpDorp AHS and Shiram Patel GHS.
Not present Alex Johnson AHS, Tyler Early AHS, Elizabeth Whitford GHS and Josh Sims AHS.
Teens of the Year (L-R) Gunner Spivey GHS, Doc Gerleman PSP and Emilyann Wexell.

Both Gunner and Emilyann won the West District Teen of the Year and proceeded to the Illinois Elks Association competition in which Gunner placed 2nd and Emilyann placed 1st in the state.

The Kewanee Elks Citizen of the Year is Amber Patch-Troxell.
The Kewanee Elks Eagle Scout award winner is Jackson Watson. Absent was Caelin Foley.
The Kewanee Elks Special Awards were (L-R): Shane Milroy Special Commendation, Amy Jackson Officer of the Year, Sheila Blair Lady of the Year and Clark Blair Special Commendation and Elk of the Year.

Quincy Dare Awards

Quincy Elks lodge 100 hosted 56 guests at the Dare awards presentation. 10 awards for essay winners were given out and served everyone a fantastic meal sponsored by the lodge. 

Quincy Gratitude Grant

The Elks lodge #100 completed the Gratitude grant with $1,000 going towards a voucher program at the Salvation Army and $1,000 towards Hygiene kit items to St John’s Open Hands pantry. Both groups will help the community with needed assistance in the areas that are not available with their current programs today.

What a great day we had in Washington DC leaving Quincy 1am Thursday morning and returning 11pm Thursday night
